In summer 2028, we welcome you to Roverway in Switzerland. Unique nature, new friendships, and a host country with a diverse and long-standing Guiding and Scouting tradition await you. There’s still a while to go before we can all actually pack our backpacks – but for the Roverway Crew, the adventure has already begun! We’re right in the middle of preparations and are excited to share the first information with you here. Have fun browsing and hopefully we’ll see you in summer 2028!

Nature

Located in the heart of Europe, the country offers everything a Guide or Scout's heart could wish for. Crystal-clear lakes, untouched forests, snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance… the perfect backdrop for any Scout camp.

Activities

Mountains, lakes, forests and valleys invite you to sporting activities on water and on land. Switzerland has national hiking, cycling, skating, mountain biking and canoe routes.

Culture & Customs

Switzerland has many living traditions. Culture and customs are actively kept alive, both in the cities and in the countryside. There are many museums, fascinating architecture, and countless cultural events.

Public transport

Swiss trains are known worldwide for their cleanliness and punctuality. Extra carriages are added and seats reserved for large groups. Public transport is very well developed and will take you by train, boat, postbus or cable car to even the most remote corner of the country.

Hiking

Switzerland is a hiker's paradise with over 65,000 kilometres of well-marked hiking trails. There are various levels of difficulty – from easy walks along a river to via ferratas on the highest mountain peaks. The trails often pass alpine dairies, mountain huts, historic sites or viewpoints, where you can stop for refreshments and enjoy the scenery.

Cuisine

Besides world-famous Swiss cheese and chocolate, the country has numerous regional delicacies to offer. From potato rösti to polenta to fruit cake, there's a wide variety of regional specialities. Of course, you can also take part in making chocolate or cheese – and tasting it.

Linguistic Diversity

Switzerland has four official national languages: French, Italian, German and Romansh. The latter is spoken by only about 0.5 percent of the population, in a few mountain valleys. And in summer 2028, by all of us – because our motto «Battasendas» is the Romansh word for Scouts and Guides.
